Garden Center Inauguration a SUCCESS!

Greetings Dear Volunteers,

Have you seen our adorable Garden Center? It is the first thing you see when coming in the front door. The center is Dixie Stansell's great idea. She has been creating hand painted furniture, planter boxes, darling chalk painted jars, and lots more to adorn the white lattice pergola. Lynnie Billingsley created garden adornments made of odds and ends of dinner plates and various glass vases. She brought in 6 of them displayed like a bouquet. Four were sold at $25 each in 2 hours. Our talented Julia Kern designed the garden space and dear Rose Chaney was on hand to help put it all together. That first Saturday we nearly doubled our average daily income. The total was $985.00. The Garden Center is a huge success. Please help keep it open through your garden donations.

Odds and Ends

  • Cindy requests that the front door be kept closed as the weather warms up. The flying dust from the parking lot really makes a mess in the shop. The side door can be propped open for ventilation. Then go upstairs to the large built-in fan in the Craft Department. The "on" switch is on the wall just below the "A" of the CRAFTS sign.
  • Cheri Warber and Dianne Arrants have cleverly rearranged the clubhouse. The new bookshelves in place along the window wall are designated for members to use for each other. Please label the items with "To" and "From" names and a date. Great idea!
  • A Men's pricing guide is now available thanks to Cheri and Diane. Please familiarize yourself with it.

  • Scheduling Calendar:
Dear Volunteers, if you need to change a date on the calendar please not only change your name on the calendar but CALL YOUR TEAM LEADER. Often the TL does not look at the calendar prior to her shift and is caught without help if names are crossed off without her knowledge. Thanks.

Another great BB story:
Hermie Cline donated a cute wooden garden side table for Dixie to paint. She asked if she could have first right of refusal after it was finished. Dixie, of course, gave it a darling rustic washed look. Hermie decided that she did want it. Dixie held tight to the "No sales til Saturday" decision so Hermie was at the shop Saturday at 10:00 with her check book. She happily paid $100.00 to get her table back. Don't you just love this group of women!

Thank you for all you do to continue to make BB so Beautiful!

Appreciatively,

Joyce and Cindy
