BIZARRE BAZAAR

  DATES TO REMEMBER

Dear Volunteers,

I'm so excited to share the ideas in a book I just took to heart. "the life-changing magic of tidying up" by Marie Kondo. The main thrust is an attitude change about the way we think about our things. The same attitude can be used when we sort donations at BB. Here's a short quote: "To truly cherish the things that are important to you, you must first discard those that have outlived their purpose. To get rid of what you no longer need is neither wasteful nor shameful......Let them go, with gratitude..... By acknowledging their contribution (in the past) and letting them go with gratitude, ...all that will remain are the things that you really treasure."

So as I sort and pass on instead of my "be ruthless" phrase, I will begin thinking, "This isn't its right place but here's to our generosity and a new life for this item somewhere else.”

Dates to Remember:

January 20th (after general meeting)

New members, Diane Arrants will conduct a brief orientation at Bizarre Bazaar on the basics of working at the shop. Please meet her in the back room immediately after the meeting. It will be a huge help to you.

February 10th, 2nd Wednesday

Team Leaders' Meeting

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Purpose: To plan the calendar for the next 6 months and share ideas

Hope you will be there. Thanking you in advance.

Shop Notes:

When ringing up a customer's purchases please open CD's, DVD's, VCR's to make sure the cases are not empty. That has happened. Oops!

Have you noticed the new arrangement of the bookcases. Thank you, Robert Qualls and Sue Vogelsinger. The book nook is a bit dark now so please follow the light cord and turn on the spot lights above the bookshelves.

As always BB seems to receive the right things at the right time. As the Christmas trees left, furniture has arrived. All is well.

Thank you for all you do to make BB run so smoothly.

Most Fondly,

Joyce and Cindy
