 Enjoying a Day at
 Bonner County History Museum

Dear CAL members,

Do you ever run into the store with no makeup, snow boots and sweats? You say to yourself it will only take a minute and no one will see me. Suddenly, across the vegetable aisles you hear, "hello", here's your comeback - "Hello, I'm usually gorgeous but it's my day off”. 😌😆

Thank you for attending our January meeting and it was nice to see everyone smiling and visiting. Our program was so informative and fun. Olivia Luther, Executive Director and Heather Upton, Curator, both from Bonner County History Museum, presented a wonderful program. At the end, we played Bonner County Jeopardy and it was a great way for our native Idahoans to shine.

Some of our CAL members and I had a chance to tour the museum last month and very much enjoyed Heather's creativity and warm personality as she showed us vignette's using some of the museum's collection to celebrate fairy tales.

In the museum’s words “The museum’s current temporary exhibit is “Once Upon a Time… In Bonner County”, a unique and breathtaking look at our collection. As historians, we believe that objects have a story to tell, places they have been, people they have met. But what if they had a different past, a different story? For this groundbreaking exhibit, curator Heather Upton reimagines objects from the collection into popular fairy tales, giving them new life and a new past, at least for a moment in time.”

The Sandpoint Area Senior Center has 2018 calendars on sale for $15.00. They can be purchased at the Senior Center and Bizarre Bazaar. Supporting our seniors is so important to CAL.

Here is a yummy, warm cocktail for a snowy evening. Choose a LARGE mug:

Add one jigger of Huckleberry vodka
Add one jigger of Baileys
Strong hot cocoa, to taste
Top with Whipped cream

Sip and relax. If you are dieting for your 2018 resolution, please beware..........lots of calories.

Fondly,
Linda Zinn
