Happy Halloween & Beware!

Little goblins will be out, lurking here and there.

Hiding in the bushes and running everywhere.

Doorbells ringing, the patter of tiny feet

Open the door, don't be scared,

Tonight is TRICK or TREAT

Enjoy your weekend.

Dear CAL members,

Our October general meeting is always so fun. I have been dressing as a witch for many years. It is the one meeting I can be myself. And thank you to our members for the delicious TREATS.

Our new special interest group, Potpourri Ladies, is off to a great start. Bringing information to members through shared email addresses was a wonderful idea.

Thank you to Charlene Matheson, our program chairman, for bringing the Carousel Of Smiles to the group. It was a wonderful program. Looking forward to next month when Sue Vogelsinger will speak to us about her years with President Kennedy.

The Special Treat for October is a 'scary' one:

Scarecrow Crunch

Double, double, toil and trouble: Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
 - William Shakespeare

4 C crunchy oatmeal cereal squares
4 C tiny twist pretzels
1 22 oz. bag autumn mix honey candy
2 C peanut butter candy in crunchy shell

1 6.6 oz bag chocolate graham bakes snacks

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.

Have a beautiful week end.

Fondly,
Linda Zinn
