Bulletin Delivery & Changing Passwords

Bulletin Delivery

Several people have mentioned they are not receiving bulletins. The new version of the website/bulletin system tells me when email ‘bounces’ or can’t be delivered & these are limited to only 4 members and have been documented with the member personally.

There are several possibilities that can cause problems.

1. Your registered email is not correct on CAL’s Distribution.

  • Logon to the Member Area, Membership Manager, locate & edit your Member Profile to correct the email.
  • Anytime you change email names or providers and are unable to login to the website, you need to contact our membership chair, Robbie Gleason.

2. Your bulletin is delivered but not directly to your inbox.

Sometimes your email provider makes changes to delivery that causes this problem. Examples are:

  • Yahoo uses a system to determine if an email is SPAM, creating an issue where the mail is delivered to either 'SPAM' or ‘TRASH' if it has many addressees. (Delivery folder can depend on the operating system you are using - see below for the different systems and manufacturers).
  • Gmail recently has been delivering to “Promotions” (or other folders ?) rather than the Inbox.

3. Here are Suggestions to correct delivery issues:

  • Create a unique folder for CAL’s Bulletin, then create a filter to move the email bulletin when it is delivered. Each mail provider has different ways to do this, so I can’t specifically tell you each step. Your provider has ‘Help’ instructions online or if there is a Support Phone number, that may be an option.
  • ‘Search’ your mail for our bulletin (using keywords CAL Bulletin or Bulletin). Each mail provider has different ways to do this, so I can’t specifically tell you each step. Your provider has ‘Help’ instructions online or if there is a Support Phone number, that may be an option.
4. Operating systems/manufacturers are:
  • Microsoft - Windows on PCs, Microsoft phones & Microsoft tablets
  • Google - Android (on mobile devices not manufactured by Apple or Microsoft)
  • Apple - OSX (on MACs), iOS on mobile devices such as iPhones & Pads

CAL Website Security

Recently, as reported by The Spokesman-Review, the Silverwood Theme Park website was hacked and suggestive adult content was posted. In addition to stealing information from our membership list, we really don’t want this to occur on our website. Here’s the link to the story:
