Celebration of our Country's Birth!

Dear Members,

Kudos to Betsy Walker and her Scholarship committee! It was pure pleasure to listen to the aspirations of this year’s CAL scholarship recipients. Just when one starts to feel down about the future of the world, these special young people come on the stage. As Mary Daubersmith so aptly put it (Sorry, Mary, I’m lavishly misquoting you.), “Today’s seeds are tomorrow’s flowers”. This meeting is always such a wonderful culmination of CAL’s year. Grants and Scholarships are what we work so hard for at Bizarre Bazaar, so in case you haven’t signed up for a shift, go on into the store, sign up and help make money for next year’s recipients.

2017 Scholarship Recipients In Attendance

This year's 5th Annual Paws with a Cause was a success. We were able to present the Community Cancer Services with a check for $3,850 after the expenses.

And just when you thought I was finished asking for volunteers for one thing or another, the HARANGUER IN CHIEF is requesting that you sign up to march in the 4th of July Parade. This year’s Lion’s Club theme is “All About Service”. I’ve left a sign-up sheet at the counter at BB. Come on out and march. It’s just a couple of hours. Chat with your friends. See the locals ready their floats, tractors, horses. Let your guests make their own breakfasts. As my husband used to say, “BE THERE OR BE SQUARE”.

When: July 4th, 9:30 a.m. at Bizarre Bazaar
What:   Wear your BB tee-shirt (bling or plain), white pants, white shoes and
red visor (if you have one & want to wear it)

            Don’t forget the sunscreen

If you cannot walk the parade but wish to participate, we have room on the float - you’ll be put to work holding a sign. Drop in to Bizarre Bazaar and add your name to the list for marching or riding. If you can help with decorating the float please call me. We plan to meet at Bizarre Bazaar at 9:00 a.m. on July 3rd.

Happy Summer!
