Dear Volunteers, Earlier this month, I heard a meteorologist comment that unlike the old saying, March 2025 was going to “come in like a lamb and go out like a lion”. Waking up to snow this morning, I have to say he might have been correct. However, it is officially spring and even though we live in the Northwest, here is hoping we are scheduled for some warmer weather. Our customers are telling us they are hoping for warmer weather as well. They appear to be gravitating to brighter colors, our stunning flower arrangements (thank you, Pam Trimble), and anything that is not winter. (Cue in Cherie’s request that anything winter stays in the back rooms until November.) |
Reminders & A Date to Remember!
- Ann Nichols has been busy with her computer making new size signs for the rounders. Instead of just having Small, Medium, etc., she has added the numerical size range. For example: Small 6-8. This should help both our customers and volunteers to find what they are looking for. Additionally, she has taken the Color Flow chart and added the sizes to that as well.
- For Team Leaders and those who cashier, look for the new End Of Day envelope. The checklist (that no one ever checks) will be removed and the type will be larger and easier to read. In place of the envelope checklist, you will find a laminated two-sided card with opening and closing criteria. We hope that will help make your job easier.
- If you have not been in since Thursday, please come and check out the incredible merchandising done in Women’s Clothing by new member Carla Lariza. Carla has background in retail sales and merchandising and is a great new addition to our cast of talented members.
- Anyone interested in gardening? We are looking for a team to work on the garden courtyard at the shop. Please contact one of your managers if you are ready to get down and dirty.
- Date to Remember

This has been a slow winter, but as the weather gets nicer, we are seeing an uptick in sales. More warm days should continue to bring more people out of hibernation. Please do not forget to sign up on our Volunteer Scheduling Tool! We look forward to seeing you.
With Great Appreciation,
Cherie Warber, Carol Visger, Donna Hutter, Ann Nichols
