BIZARRE BAZAAR
NEWS

Dear Volunteers,

It may be unseasonably warm and rainy outside, but inside Bizarre Bazaar it is very holiday-ish and Christmasy. Our great customers seem to have chosen us as their go-to place for holiday gifts, decorations, apparel – well, for just about everything!

We broke all November records for sales and this month is looking excellent. So, to those of you who have been coming in to volunteer and in any way supporting us, thank you!

Through the Square system and the Bizarre Bazaar email, we receive customer feedback. People also leave comments on both the Google & Apple maps for the store. Lately, the comments have been so nice. “Lovely shop.” “Helpful staff”. “Fun place to shop.” And, one of my favorites from last week – “Smiles all around.” Our customers notice how outstanding you have been and are taking the time to let us know. So, once again, another big Thank You!

The Christmas elves have been keeping busy refilling the shelves, but are now winding down. Christmas goods were marked down on the 15th, so be aware that if you bring any décor in it will probably not go out until next year.

And Jewelry…oh my goodness. Marilyn and her team have been having incredible sales. Many of the big numbers are due to a couple of customers who buy up the gold from the cases, but also from the bits and pieces Marilyn saves such as broken chains, single earrings, etc. She carefully checks the weight and quality, then uses the daily cost of gold to determine her prices. She volunteers a lot of time for this and with her well-informed team, they make sure the jewelry flies out of the shop. I know she would be very grateful if members go through their personal treasures and see what they can donate. She always needs new stock.

Just a wee reminder to those who donate. Please save your out-of-season items, especially clothing, until we get closer to the season. Several lovely ladies with summer clothing have said, “well, it’s only two or three items”, but keep in mind we have 200 members. If everyone brought just two or three items x 200…well that adds up to 400 to 600 items we have to sort and store. Yikes! Our backroom storage is bigger than before, but not that huge!
