Dear Volunteers, It looks as though we are getting our second dose (or is that third or fourth?) of winter weather. Heavens knows we need snow for skiers and for the snowpack, but I, for one, am happy it is staying in the mountains. Despite Mother Nature’s insistence to throw inclement wintery weather our way, we are moving forward with bringing Spring indoors. This coming Wednesday we will see the first signs of the softer pastels of the coming season, lighter sweaters, and more florals. Green will be evident everywhere and everything will be brighter. If you are tired of gray, here is your opportunity to “lighten up”! Once again you did it! The month of January, usually a slow month, broke all previous January records. Thank you for your participation in helping at Bizarre Bazaar, managing the donations, the cleaning, pressing, and pricing and all the other things that go into keeping our shop functioning. The saying goes that it takes a village and you, our wonderful volunteers, are our village. |
Dates to Remember!
- Get ready now…because in March, we will be celebrating 20 years in business. Bizarre Bazaar opened its doors on March 15, 2006, led by the indomitable derring-do duo of Joyce Spiller and Cindy Chenault, along with the incredible help of Barbie Buchanan, Tracy Gibson and so many other volunteers and their families. Through their hard work and perseverance, Bizarre Bazaar grew and became a favorite shopping and volunteering place in the Sandpoint area. We, as well as the community, owe so much to these foresighted women for what they have accomplished over the years.
- The main part of our celebration will be Saturday, March 14th. During the prior two weeks there will be several opportunities to get a raffle ticket – for shopping, for donating, and for volunteering. And let us share now that we have some incredible raffle prizes donated by businesses in the community who appreciate what CAL does with funds raised by the shop. You will have to wait until March 2nd to see what the prizes are but spread the word and let everyone know!
