BIZARRE BAZAAR FALL NEWS

Dear Volunteers,

Ho, ho, ho! It’s time for those of us in the “retail” world to shift into holiday mode. Monday will officially start the Christmas shopping season and we are looking for a lot of little elves to help! Of course, there will be a lot of little elves flying around Bizarre Bazaar on Sunday for the annual decorating party. Once the magic has transformed BB into a delightful Christmas fairyland, the customers will flock in. So we need YOU to step up and help out when you have some time to make sure the shop is not understaffed. It’s pretty hard with just two people, and you know the old saying ”the more, the merrier”! Think of all the fun you can have in such a beautiful setting.

There will be baskets for our customers to use to gather their treasures as they shop. Please make sure they are returned to the front of the store on check out (and they are not for sale).

Team leaders, there will be an extra task when opening and closing BB for the next 8 weeks. All the lights and trees in the store will need to be plugged and unplugged. Team members, please plan to assist your stalwart leaders; it will go a little faster and you’ll be sure not to miss anything. Thank you in advance.

There are a lot of questions about ‘Inventory Control’, as in what goes on the floor, what stays, back stock, etc. It’s very simple -  incoming clothing is sorted into current season and out of season. Out of season is hung up and stored in the stockroom. Current season is hung up and placed on the “ready to be pressed and priced” rack. Current season is fall/winter jackets, slacks, sweaters, etc. Back stock is a little trickier; these are items that have come in since last winter and are organized by type of item. These items are counted and are melded into the system gradually. If we put out too much on the racks, we will run short by January/February, a time that is too early in our climate to start introducing Spring clothes. Traditionally we have less winter things to spread over a longer period, so please do not pull out of back stock unless you are looking for a specific item. Cherie pulls back stock once a week (usually Monday) for the week. Our small tops are usually a little thin, but that is because we have a lot of ladies looking for smalls and there are usually fewer items available in this size. Right now, we don’t have a lot of sweaters, but have blazer style jackets and a ton of slacks. Please feel free to go back and look for a specific size for a customer as that is customer service. If any item(s) are not purchased by the customer, please put them back in the stock area. If you have any questions, give Cherie or Diane a call and we will be happy to help you.

Coming attractions: In addition to all the beautiful and whimsical Christmas items, you will soon see a section for the traditional “Ugly Christmas Sweater”; soon after our beautiful holiday evening attire will be available. We have a lot of gorgeous clothes for the holidays, so make sure all your friends know and invite them to drop by to check it out!

You all are so amazing and we thank you for all you contribute.
