Dear Volunteers,

Spring is almost here (26 days, but who’s counting?). Lovely flowers are popping up inside Bizarre Bazaar - thank you Judy Dabrowski and Marnie Easly. Our mannequins are sporting lighter, brighter attire, courtesy of Jan Baldensperger, and shelves and tables are brightly reflecting the upcoming seasonal change, thanks to Karen Wallis, Sherry Fulton, Sam Shields, Lori Neptune and Marnie Easly. If you participated in this grand transition and we missed your name, please know we appreciate what you all have accomplished!

Even though most of us are anxiously awaiting warmer days of Spring, please don’t get too excited about putting out Summer clothes. We are looking for lighter weight sweaters (no wool), raincoats, long-sleeved tees and shirts. Pretty spring colors will help brighten up the shop as well.

What we are putting away now are winter sweaters, Christmas attire, boots, heavy coats, wool anything, ski wear, heavy gloves, scarves and hats. With the exception of heavy coats, these are being folded and placed in marked tubs. Please go ahead and hang all pants (except crops and shorts), skirts, dresses, jackets, blouses and long sleeve teesSpeaking of Men’s clothing, Sam Shields and Lori Neptune are pre-pricing season-appropriate clothing and placing on the ironing rack. Once they are ironed, they can go upstairs. The reason for pre-pricing is to ensure that season-appropriate clothes go out with consistent pricing.

Note: sorry, but it’s too late for members to bring in winter clothes, but we are now accepting spring things.

We need books! Mysteries and thrillers are best sellers and the shelves are emptying out.

Alas, we have experienced some rather exotic methods of filling out and attaching clothing price tags. So, once again:

  • Use the proper color for the month.
  • We never use white string tags on clothing.
  • Always use black or blue pens. Red is only for marking down sale items.
  • Write legibly on the top half of the tag with size and price and use a $ sign.
  • All tags are placed on the left side of the garment, either in the underarm seam or waistband. If the material is heavy or delicate, the tag can go into the neck tag.

We have discovered some little quirks with the Square system. If you have any problems, please call Diane or Cherie and we will try to talk you through it. Keep in mind Diane is smarter than Cherie!

And while you are planning your March schedules, Tour D’Thrift is coming! Saturday, March 21st is the day! If you have never helped out at Bizarre Bazaar for the Tour, it is fun! It is crazy and it is crazy busy! We need help prepping during the week before and especially need help that day. For those of you who are new, Tour D’Thrift is an annual event spearheaded by the Panhandle Animal Shelter store and involves all the resale and thrift stores in our area. The goal is to promote our stores and, of course, have fun. There are drawings and prizes as customers go from shop to shop collecting stamps on their “passports”, which, in turn, make them eligible for grand prizes. Please come join us.

Please take a few minutes to sign up for the rest of February & March. We need you!

February, March & April calendars are available online now!

Bizarre Bazaar looks amazing. Thank you to all who help make it and keep it the best resale shop in Bonner County!

In appreciation for all you do!
