Dear Members,
As some of you know, Rose Edwards stepped away from chairing Grants this year as an unexpected and time-consuming issue came up for her family. We all wish her well. Meanwhile, Joyce appointed me to take on this responsibility for 2026. There are three changes, so please read the following:
As a reminder, news releases and announcements go out in February; the grant applications are available March 1-31. If you are involved with or know any organization which might want to apply, please let them know of a few changes: All applications must be typewritten (and the online version can be filled in online). Applications must stand alone - no one from the committee will be calling for clarification or additional information. And applications must be printed and submitted on paper, either dropping them off at Bizarre Bazaar or by mail.
The prior committees and prior chairs all felt these small changes would make our process even more fair as well as cut down on the tremendous amount of work previous chairs had to do in printing emailed applications—many of which came in multiple emails. (I'm so grateful for that change!)
If you have any questions about these important changes, please ask me. We don't want any deserving applicant to lose out based on assumptions that old rules still hold. Thanks for your help.
