Good day CAL members,

This week, Tom and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary. We spent last Sunday and Monday at Quinn's Resort; it was wonderful to spend a couple of days just being us.

On Wednesday, October 5th, Vice President Sherry Ennis and I attended the 7th annual Idaho Community Foundation Luncheon. Donna Hutter (Ways & Means Program Manager) and her husband Richard greeted us as we arrived. The program was very informative and enjoyable. Two of Sandpoint’s local charities, Kinderhaven and Sandpoint's food bank were represented. I am so proud of CAL's decision to become a part of the Idaho Community Foundation. CAL now has a forever legacy.

This month's general meeting will be October 19 at Columbia Bank. Our social time is from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; the general meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. Please join us for a very enjoyable & informative morning.

My recipe for October is a homemade pumpkin coffee creamer. I'll have this creamer at our general meeting for you to try. It is delicious!

2 cups heavy cream or half-and-half
1 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk
3 Tbsp. canned pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice (I make my own: 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. ground ginger, 1/2 tsp. ground cloves)

Mix and store in a quart jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Shake well before using. Enjoy!

Have a lovely weekend,
Linda Zinn
