PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

I’m feeling a little stressed today. I’m already late submitting my Bulletin article. My Superwoman cape is slipping and I don’t seem to be able to wear as many hats at the same time as I used to. I’m trying to juggle having company – my brother is here to visit for the first time since before COVID, yay! – being the activity director, chief chef and dishwasher, my organization obligations, my grandson’s guest appearance in the Spokane Youth Symphony Orchestra, getting ready to go to our granddaughter’s high school graduation, making sure my animals are taken care of while we’re gone, and, oh, my furnace/AC needs to be repaired. What a week!

On a positive note, our Spring Tea and Fashion Show was absolutely marvelous and well done. Everyone had a great time. I think we were all happy to have spring, almost summer, weather, which made this a perfect day. Linda Zinn and her team made all the delightful tasty & beautiful food for our event. The presentation was spectacular. After the tea and scones, Joyce Spiller, Maribeth Lynch and the team put on a fashion show with our members as models using fashions from Bizarre Bazaar. Their selections were perfect and displayed wonderful selections from which to choose when shopping at Bizarre Bazaar. Kudos to all. The photo album link is available in Linda Zinn’s article and in the bulletin references to the latest albums (upper left).

The Celebration of Giving event is coming up in June where the Grants and Scholarships Committees will distribute the funds allocated for this year. This event will be held at the University of Idaho - Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center on June 20, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. This will be another record-setting contribution to our community. Please plan to attend. It is truly the highlight of the year and reinforces why we do what we do.

The Celebration will be our last event for this fiscal year as we take our regular summer break, except for the 4th of July Parade, which is organized by Joyce Price, our Vice President.

I hope everyone has a wonderful summer, and I look forward to seeing all of you in September. We will be planning that meeting during the summer and hope to bring a fun and informative Community Café item forward to discuss and inform our way as we plan for the next several years. I will be sending a President’s letter out in June outlining our accomplishments in the 2022/2023 fiscal year as well as providing some idea of what to expect in September.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at the Celebration of Giving in June. Have a wonderful Spring & Summer.
