PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,
It is hard to believe we are already deep into the month of February. Spring is just around the corner, though it looks like Mother Nature might gift us with more of the white stuff before everything is said and done.
Welcome to our newest Community Assistance League (CAL) members since January, Jenny Henry and Rachel Howard. We look forward to both of them helping us out at Bizarre Bazaar! Greetings!
Our Grants and Scholarships committees are gearing up for their hard work in selecting candidates for the wonderful funds we will be distributing this year. If you haven’t served on one of these committees, please consider it seriously. It is a short-term commitment and the experience will help you appreciate and understand how CAL gives back to our community.
With costs rising for everything from food to room rentals, CAL is struggling with affordable social events. As you know, a bulk of the social funds come from the CAL dues. Our Board has discussed the possibility of raising the dues. What are your thoughts? Please let Barbara Pardee (Membership Chair), or any Board member, know your thoughts.
As of this writing, we are still looking for volunteers to take over our wonderful Crafts department. Please don’t let this opportunity slip away! Our customers look forward to the wonderful items we offer, and we would hate to eliminate this profitable part of the store. Contact Katie Holley or Lynn Youngren if you are interested.
Sounding like a broken record, I am going to ask this question again: How you can help support CAL in 2026? There are many opportunities to contribute your talents to our organization. If you are interested in leadership, consider joining the CAL Board. We will have executive elections in May and there will be openings on a number of committees. Please reach out to anyone on the Board for more information. Remember: You and our customers are our heroes, by donating, volunteering, and shopping at Bizarre Bazaar.
