Vice-President's Corner

Good day CAL members,

I'm home from California and so very happy to be here. It was wonderful to see my girlfriends and spend time with my son, Brandon, and my mom. I traveled to Fresno, where I was born and raised. Then off to Monterey and Cambria for a few days and back to Fresno, Half Moon Bay and San Francisco. The drive was wonderful. It's nice to spend time with just one's self every once in awhile. Now to business…..

Paws For A Cause is in it's fourth year. We hold this event to raise money for our local cancer center. It is separate from Relay For Life. Our date this year is Saturday, June 4th. This event is held at the Balto Dog Path in Dover Bay. Event time is 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We all take our doggie friends out and about for walks and this location is lovely. It is a 30 to 40 minute walk. As you walk from station to station, you will be given a playing card and there will be water for your dog.

Tina Reynolds and I are putting together our team of volunteers at Wednesday's general meeting, May 18. We have 5 watering stations along the path and need two people per station. There is also set up and take down times available.

Our raffle baskets are always a hit. Dog toys for best poker hands will be given away. Participating dogs receive colorful scarves and dog treats.

If you would like to support our event we are taking donations for our raffle baskets. Dog toys, treats, collars and leashes, brushes, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for those of you who have already donated.

You may bring your donations to May's general meeting or to BB; there will be a plastic tub in the back room for them.
