Hi all,

Autumn is truly here, and I am enjoying the colors and the smells of the season. However, the excitement of the CAL Kinderhaven tree is in the air, and I’m thrilled to announce that Julia Kern will be heading up the committee this year.

Five minutes after I met her, she had a theme and we were filling plastic totes with treasures BB received from Linda Plaster’s estate sale. Did I say that Julia can be described with six letters—DYNAMO? The theme for the 2016 CAL tree is gardening and all its delights. You may think “Gardening in December”?, but then remember those garden catalogs that appear, like clockwork, in your mailbox on January 2. Put on your thinking caps and let your imagination run wild. Julia will be at the October CAL meeting to give you more details and request for donations to make this a truly spectacular and whimsical tree.
