FRIENDSHIP, FELLOWSHIP & COMMUNITY

Dear Members,

The Holidays are officially here! Winter has arrived with a rush of cold weather and a dusting of snow. It’s time for entertaining, cooking, and gathering with friends and family. I have fond memories of Thanksgiving festivities with my five siblings, parents and relatives. The chaos was wonderful.

Thank you all for approving the latest version of the CAL Bylaws, which include updated job descriptions for Board members. These will be published and available for review.

CAL is contributing a beautiful gift basket for the Silent Auction at the Kinderhaven Festival of Trees this year. Barbee Buchanan is putting it together, and it includes a spectacular array of experiences and goodies, titled “Tasty Travels to Trader Joe’s”!  We are so appreciative of Barbee and her creative talents. Thank you all for your monetary contributions to help put the basket together. Let’s cross our fingers for a great bid at the Festival.

CAL’s “Blankie” project continues to need donations of handmade baby blankets, quilts and hats for Bonner General Hospital. Materials are available at Bizarre Bazaar, and donations can be left in the clubhouse at the back of the store. These cold days are especially great for making your creations! Please contact Mary Sturgis if you have any questions.

Make sure to check out Sherry Fulton’s Ways and Means article for details regarding the Senior Giving project. There are housebound seniors in need of warmth and love in our community. Consider providing a gift bag!

Three new photo albums are available for viewing: "New Member Tea 2022", "Wicked Wine Tasting Dinner" & “Decorating Bizarre Bazaar - November 2022". They are available from the e-Bulletin or on the website by selecting Member Photo Albums on the Menu Bar at the top of the page; photo albums are for members only.

May all of you enjoy a blessed and warm Thanksgiving with friends and loved ones. Bon appetit!
