BIZARRE BAZAAR
NEWS

Dear Volunteers,

I don’t know about you, but I wonder if a huge, collective ohm might make the cool, windy, drizzly weather go away and finally bring the nice warm sunny Spring days we are all eagerly awaiting. The few nice days have been just a tease and I think all the little Spring sprouts are getting tired of having to wear tiny parkas to stay alive.

The wacky weather, however, did not deter the focused ladies who rushed in to sweep up the great garden goods in our annual Garden Center. Dixie Stansell, Judy Dabrowski and their team did such a wonderful job creating this year’s extravaganza and it was almost completely wiped out by the end of the week. Thank you to all who donated items and helped make the Garden Center a huge success.

We need help, and yes, we are on our knees once again asking volunteers to sign up. Afternoons seem to be our weakest staffing time. Come in and see what is happening - you might just enjoy yourself and stay awhile. We are in particular need of those who like to iron or steam.

 ** Important Notes **

  • This coming week is markdowns (May 25th in the afternoon and May 26th in the morning). You will see some changes including a rounder of crops. When straightening or returning clothes to the racks, please check that the shorter pants are hung on the shorter rounder (crops) and the longer pants are hung on the taller rack. ALL crops are $4, except for boutique items.

  • The prom dresses are going back to Robert’s Room and will be replaced with a blow out Art Sale, collated by Carol Visger and Sherry Ennis. You may be surprised by what’s been hiding in the back back room. I know I was!

  • Another SOS request – the cordless screwdriver/drill, bought for Bizarre Bazaar, was unplugged and dumped in the toolbox. Unfortunately, it is now dead and the charger is missing. If anyone has an idea of why it was moved or where the charger is, please let one of us know. The tool is handy for little projects but needs to remain charging when not in use. A replacement charging station costs about the same as two boxes of hangers.

  • Bizarre Bazaar will be closed on Memorial Day, May 30.

We have had so many positive comments about how nice Bizarre Bazaar looks. One couple, from out of town, thought it was such a delightful little shop and they could not believe it was a “thrift store”! Well, WE know it is not a “thrift store”, but it is interesting to see the perception of others. Thank you so much to all of you who keep Bizarre Bazaar organized, clean and so much more than just a “thrift store”.
