Dear Volunteers,
The beautiful fall we are having is such a blessing! The mild weather with the lovely fall colors starting to show is good for the soul, with the added bonus of a tremendous amount of folks coming in to shop. It is impossible to keep the floor full of merchandise, especially clothing! What a problem to have! Thanks to all of you endeavoring to get our primo donations out on the floor. You hard work is showing in our sales reports. Thank you!
The Team Leader Meeting earlier this month was informative and lively. Your hard-working team leaders worked together to solve some issues and hear some new ideas. They put a lot of time into making your day go smoothly and I bet they might appreciate a little pat on the back or thank you from all of you!
We have heard a lot of comments regarding the dirtiness of the shop and after chatting with the cleaners, we found the problem was that the vacuums are getting seriously clogged and dirty. The cleaners are now on a vacuum maintenance schedule and we need your help as well. Please pick up larger pieces of trash on the floor and, especially in the pricing area, be aware that the plastic “spines” from the tagging guns and the tags themselves are deadly to the vacuums. Please, please, please pick them up!
Some extra notes:
* Only fall clothing on the floor. No more summer attire. (Too early for turtlenecks.)
* Don’t be shy…if a mannequin is, er, unclothed, please redress him or her, hopefully with something in a small size.
* The carpets on the floor are NOT for sale. Please do not price them or sell any without contacting either Diane or Cherie.
* The days are getting shorter and will be getting gloomy. Don’t forget to turn on all the extra lights! There is a guide with the store opening/closing sheet.
* Please use the new pricing guide and give us some feedback. It’s a work in progress and Jaime Erdt is willing to update and flesh the book out.
* The white pricing dots on the rolls are virtually impossible to remove so please be careful and do not put them on furniture, outside of shoes or anything delicate.
* Don’t forget the “go-backs”. They sell so much better on the floor than in the dressing rooms or the rack outside the dressing rooms!
And, dear volunteers, please join us at Bizarre Bazaar either by signing up with the nifty new on-line sign-up, on the sheets at the shop, or by contacting a team leader. If you can’t make your scheduled shift, please let your team leader know and try to find a substitute. Of course, you are always welcome to do a “drop-in” shift as well! The magic can’t happen without you!
