PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

The President’s gavel has passed from Joyce Price to me, as of June. As your president for the next two years, I hope to build an atmosphere where volunteers feel appreciated, connected, and proud of the work we do together. Our organization succeeds because of the dedicated people who give their time, talents, and hearts to help others, I would like us to continue growing through teamwork, communication, creativity, and kindness while always remembering our mission of serving the community.

One of my top priorities as president will be to strengthen our volunteer connection.

  • Create permanent "teams" led by our Team Leaders so volunteers feel they belong.
  • Continue to celebrate birthdays, milestones, and our volunteer anniversaries.
  • Celebrate volunteer highlights.
  • Celebrate our store successes.
  • Will appreciate sharing our stories showing how our proceeds help our community.
  • I want our organization to remain welcoming, respectful, dependable, and community centered.

I expect open communication, positive attitudes, and willingness to solve problems together. I look forward to working with each and every member of our board.

We had our annual Celebration meeting for our Grants and Scholarship recipients on Monday, June 9, 2026. It’s a great way to honor the organizations and students that were selected, and hear ffromthem on their projects and future plans. The complete album of photos from the luncheon are at this link: CAL Grants & Scholarships Presentation 2026 (on the website - members only access).

Thanks to all of you for helping make Community Assistance League (CAL) successful! You and our customers are our heroes, by donating, volunteering, and shopping at Bizarre Bazaar.

Regards,
Norma Bartenhagen
