SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Dear Members,
This year’s scholarship committee was comprised of Jenevie Llanes, Maribeth Lynch, Carroll Ensminger, Sharron Taylor, Jan Geren, Jackie Carter, Beth Drain and Mary Sturgis.
We started with an organizational meeting on March 20th where we decided up into teams of two and learned the procedure we would use to grade the scholarship applications. Then on April16th the 103 applications were divided amongst the teams and the fun began to read through them and grade them. On May 6th we met together once again and made the final decisions on how $81,000 would be divided amongst the recipients. Different ones of us went to the 4 different schools to give out the scholarships to the happy recipients.This is such a rewarding committee to work on and see where our hard earned money goes. The students are so grateful and full of dreams for their future. It is a real privilege to help them on their way. If you think you would like to be a part of this fun task next year, be sure to let me know in January when we start to put the committee together.
